Jacqueline Calderín Elected Chair of the New World School of The Arts Foundation

CORAL GABLES, Fla – June 3, 2021 – Jacqueline Calderín, a founding member and current managing partner of Agentis, was recently elected Chair of the New World School of the Arts Foundation Board. The Foundation’s work is critical to support the students attending the New World School of the Arts (NWSA), which is a public magnet high school and college in Downtown Miami. Its dual-enrollment programs in the visual and performing arts are organized into four strands: visual arts, dance, theatre, and music.

“I’m honored to have been elected Chair,” said Calderín. NWSA provides one of the highest levels of academic and arts education in the country and conservatory-style training to exceptionally talented young artists. The pandemic has presented challenges to the arts from both an economic and opportunity perspective. This year we will focus on maximizing the opportunities we can provide to all of our students, particularly as we transition back into pre-COVID ‘normal.’”

Calderín joined the NWSA Foundation Board of Directors in 2017.

Ranked 270 by the U.S. News rankings, which includes data on more than 17,000 public high schools across the country, NWSA prides itself on being one of America’s best visual and performing arts magnet.  New World School of the Arts was created by the Florida Legislature in 1984 as a center of excellence in the performing and visual arts. It is an educational partnership of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Miami Dade College, and the University of Florida and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools for Grades 9 through 12.
