Coral Gables – May 5, 2020 – The Daily Business Review recently announced its Professional Excellence Awards in recognition of exemplary work by attorneys in the legal profession and the community in 2019. Agentis Law is proud to announce that partner Christopher Spuches and the Litigation Practice Group will be honored as the Litigation Department of the Year for Intellectual Property at the publication’s award ceremony, scheduled to be held in October.
“These awards recognize the positive impact and professional accomplishments of South Florida’s legal community over the past year,” said Spuches, “It is a great honor to be counted among this year’s winners.”
In 2019, Spuches led the firm to win a $19.5 million jury verdict for, Coral Gables software company Kipu Systems LLC, which claimed a competitor reverse engineered its electronic medical records system. It was a complex three-week trial which not only involved an alleged clandestine scheme, but also a mysterious IP address more than 5,000 miles away, and getting the court to agree to serve a person in Bulgaria via LinkedIn.
