Spuches brings his expertise on the changing foreclosure landscape to the Daily Business Review

MIAMI, FL – December 20, 2017

Christopher Spuches, Agentis founding partner, recently had a column “Foreclosures: Rulings Favor Lender’s Stake,” featured by the Daily Business Review. The column tapped into Spuches’ expertise of the foreclosure landscape in the aftermath of the Fourth District Court of Appeals’ Glarum v. La Salle Bank decision six years ago.

Spuches broke down how subsequent appellate court rulings, culminating with the recent Third District Court of Appeals opinion in Deutsche Bank v. de Brito, have now given lenders a clear roadmap to lay the foundation for the admissibility of business records in the foreclosure context. However, lenders who didn’t always keep procedures above board could still face difficulties.

“Those institutions with “Robo-signing” and other banned or suspect practices in their history will continue to have the trustworthiness of their business records challenged,” he wrote.

Christopher Spuches represents businesses in a broad range of commercial disputes, with specialization in commercial real estate, hospitality, partnership disputes and representation of fiduciaries. To read the article, click here: DBR Article
